There's ALWAYS time for art!

Yes, summers are busy... but I've got another 5 minute art idea for you. We took a look at Mark Rothko last time, and today we'll explore a very specific time in Georgia O'Keeffe's career– one that's super interesting and often overlooked.

It will only take you 5 minutes to set up this project, and your kids will have a BLAST!!

The 5 Minute Georgia O'Keeffe Pineapple Project

In 1939 Dole Pineapple commissioned Georgia O'Keeffe to paint pineapples. She arrived in Hawaii to get to work, but she wasn't allowed to work the way she wanted to. Being the free spirit that she was, she still found a way to create some of the most amazing paintings of her life.

Read the story of Georgia O'Keeffe's time in Hawaii, discuss it with your kids, and use it as inspiration for them to create their own nature-inspired art!

Paint a pineapple... draw a hibiscus... explore some of the amazing wildlife in Hawaii, and encourage your kids to make art about something that interests them!
